Serikali Yangu mobile app is an innovation based, user-centred social monitoring tool. It is designed to strengthen community-led development, and engagement on following up on Youth and Women Development Funds in Handeni and Mikumi through poll questions, results, and sharing of useful information. Youth and women will have a platform to speak-out their opinions and ask questions on Youth and Women Development Fund, and receive feedback from both Community Development Officers and the two MPs.
The interaction platform will work in the following ways:
1. Registration: The Serikali Yangu app users will have to register to the app through their email account or facebook account. After the user has registered the user will receive a text message as new subscriber to the Serikali Yangu mobile app.
2. Forum: The user will have the experience of interacting with the leaders and other users through the mobile app open space called ‘Forum’. The Forum is an all-users space, in which the users get to interact actively and openly on a specific theme as a group with their leaders.
3. Know your Leaders: This is one-on-one space for discussion between the community leaders and their citizen. This is a private space whereby the citizen-user gets to interact with his/her leader without other users seeing their conversations.
4. Entrepreneurship courses: This is a mobile app space which provides an opportunity for the users to learn entrepreneurship skills through a specified period of time. Through this space the users will have access to the training manual which be a guidance on what they should do through the course.
5. Training videos: This is a space for the users to watch the entrepreneurship training videos from the different tutors. They will also have the opportunity to comment by either questions or opinions and get response concerning the training videos.
